Student life & enhancement

Student life

College life isn’t all about work – there’s a lot of fun to be had too, with loads of activities and opportunities to get involved in...

College life should be a good balance of work and fun. We aim to give every student the opportunity to access free enhancement activities that will broaden your horizons, help you to develop new skills and contribute to your personal and social development. These activities can be as varied and wide as joining the students’ union, helping with equality and diversity events to sports and wellbeing clubs. Some of the activities we have offered in the past include:

  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Book club
  • Debating Society
  • Football
  • Gym
  • Handball
  • Netball
  • Photography
  • Rugby
  • Student magazine
  • Yoga

Student Voice

Each year students nominate peers for the Student Voice Group. The group is an opportunity to hear our students’ views and is run by students, supported by Student Services. The Student Voice Group aims to:

  • improve student life at Bedford College
  • give students a voice in the running of the College
  • organise fundraising activities
  • represent students’ interests on the Board of Governors and Student Executive.

Student Ambassadors

More and more employers, universities and colleges are looking for the qualities, skills and experiences that make you stand out from the crowd and becoming a Student Ambassador will do just that. We will provide you with the training and support you need and you will receive a Student Participation Award in recognition of your involvement. You can help in a range of activities including:

  • Focus groups
  • Open Days
  • Workshops and careers fairs.
