Working in the sport industry means you will always be part of a huge team effort. Not only will you learn key skills that employers demand, such as team work, time management, leadership and communication but you will benefit from some of the best facilities around.

If you are highly motivated, energetic and dynamic, our Sport & Fitness courses will enable you to study and specialise areas such as, outdoor leisure, development and fitness, sport and personal training.

Why choose us?

You can be reassured that you will experience the highest-quality sporting education with us. We were one of only a few education establishments in the country to win the right to use the prestigious ‘Get Set’ 2012 Olympic logo. This was in recognition of our commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic values of friendship, courage, respect, excellence, determination, inspiration and equality through our work within College and the local community.

Develop professional skills
Our Sport Academy provides fantastic opportunities for progression into professional clubs and national teams for students from all sporting backgrounds. The Academy offers top training and coaching in the sports of football, rugby and basketball. We also have a Ladies academy. The academies will give you amazing opportunities to develop your skills in a semi-professional environment, compete on behalf of the College and can even lead to a career as a professional sport’s person. Some of the sport related work experience opportunities you will benefit from include sports development work with children in local schools, fitness testing, coaching and personal training with local community groups.

Trips to complement your studies
Our sports students also take a variety of trips to sporting venues including Lilleshall National Sports Centre, York College, English Institute of Sport in Sheffield and of course, watch live sport at matches and major events across the UK.

Fantastic facilities
Study with us and you will have access to a wide range of excellent facilities. Springs is our multi-million pound Sports Centre, home to the College’s highly-esteemed Sport Academy. It features a full sized sports hall, dance studio, a fitness studio with cardiovascular equipment and weights. We also have access to fitness labs for sport science testing and Kempston Rovers football ground for outdoor sports.

Student destinations

In 2018 our students progressed on to universities such as Bournemouth University, University of Cumbria and University of Portsmouth or went  into employment with some going to companies such as SLL Leisure Centre, Centre Parks and the Royal Navy.
