VA Earth Level 2 Award

Endorsed by Virgin Atlantic, this course is designed to give you geographical knowledge of the Travel & Tourism world. This ‘world tour’ covers 195 countries round the globe and introduces you to facts and key travel details. A must for anyone entering the travel & tourism industry!

Entry requirements

Good level of written and spoke English (ideally Level 2 or above) and a genuine interest in working in the travel & tourism industry.

Course content

On completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • To be able to locate a country on a world map
  • To match a capital city with its country
  • To name further major cities in specific countries
  • To place each country in the correct continent
  • To identify each of the five oceans of the world
  • To provide essential and useful information about each country in the world
  • To provide stimulating information about the major cites of the world.


Assessment methods

Closed book exam (final assessment). Throughout the course, you will undertake mock tests, quizzes and work packs.

Qualifications

Level 2 Award in VA Earth.

Further study and career options

Following this course you can progress onto the following Travel & Tourism courses: 

  • NCFE Aviation Operations on the Ground (Feb start)
  • NCFE Cabin Crew
  • Level 2 or 3 Travel & Tourism
  • HNC Travel & Tourism (age dependant)
