Photoshop: Intermediate
This course will extend your knowledge and understanding of Photoshop beyond an introductory level. You will develop your existing skills in using Photoshop as a creative tool for image manipulation and output.
Entry requirements
You should be familiar and reasonably competent with Adobe Photoshop. This course is a natural progression from our Photoshop: Introductory course.
Course content
You will use Macs in studio-based sessions to develop your existing skills in a range of areas, such as:
- Image manipulation
- Cropping
- Levels (e.g. contrast, saturation, hue)
- Output
- RGB
- CYMK
- Using layers
- Using masks
- Correcting areas
- ‘Cleaning up’ images.
The course will enable you to gain confidence in using Photoshop as a means of manipulating images and enhancing the visual characteristics of your work.
Assessment methods
There will be no formal assessment on this course.
Further study and career options
Dependant on your experience and qualifications, on completion of this course you can use this workshop to support an application to a photography or graphic design course, such as an Extended Diploma, Foundation Degree or HNC/HND.
Additional information
The course will be taught on Apple Mac computers; you will need to use a USB device or memory stick for transferring files.
