Applied Sciences

Our Applied Sciences programmes are ideal for students with a keen interest in science, who enjoy solving problems and investigating solutions to complex questions.

Why choose us?

Our study programmes offer the opportunity to specialise in either Analytical Forensics or Biomedical Science. You will specialise in one of the technical pathways where you will develop a deep understanding of biology, chemistry and physics. Your focus on your pathway will then include specialist units from Criminal Psychology, diseases and infection, Genetics and genetic engineering, Biological Molecules and contemporary issues in science.

We have outstanding facilities at Bedford College and you will be supported in your studies by various trips and visits to related organisations and places to enrich your knowledge and understanding on your chosen pathway, including cutting edge science laboratories and research institutions. Our study programmes embody a fundamentally learner-centred approach to the curriculum, with a flexible, unit-based structure and knowledge applied in project-based assessments. They focus on the holistic development of the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills required to be able to succeed in employment and higher education.
